Packaging: The RCS facility is equipped a variety of automated packing systems. Our compliance-packaging units include dynamic labeling with visual recognition of medications and patients. The result is the improved efficiency and accuracy of medication administration.
Distribution and Delivery: RCS provides scheduled distribution of maintenance medications on the day and time of greatest convenience for our clients. Each distribution is arranged in the order of resident status and accompanied by a manifest and documentation that facilitates efficient reception and acknowledgment. We also provide daily delivery for non-scheduled medications and necessities. Our team works with our client’s staff members to accommodate holiday schedules and weather disturbances. We pick up and remove exhausted medication units for proper HIPPA disposal and reissue any unused medication where permissible by regulation.
Forms and Reporting: RCS provides our clients with MAR’s, POs, Narcotic countdown forms and a number of customized activity reports. These include Anti-Infective, Antipsychotic and Anxiety medication utilization distribution reports. We also tracked and tallied acetaminophen and narcotic equivalency activity for our clients to maintain compliance with CMS.
On-Site Dispensing Solutions: RCS facilitates easy to use, cost effective on-site medication dispensing solutions. Our industry-leading EMR system interfaces with a variety of technologies and we assist in the installation and utilization of automated and non-automated units. Our dedication to partnership ensures that our clients are equipped with the solution that best meets their needs.
Training and Education: RCS offers orientation and training to the staff members of our client facilities. We provide materials and education to ensure that the staff is confident with the features of our packaging and distribution systems.
Clinical Pharmacy: RCS will perform clinical pharmacy review of all patient regimens for appropriateness and screen for drug interactions and unnecessary side effects. RCS will provide continuity interface for those residents being cared for by multiple prescribers. RCS will communicate clinical concerns to the prescribers on record and provide clinical consultation to the medical director and director of nursing.
Medicare D Consultation: RCS will review the formulary requirements of each resident’s insurance program to provide prescribers with therapeutic selection options to address their disease states. RCS will identify the agents that provide cost effective options in an effort to maximize the residents Medicare D benefits. At time of open enrollment, RCS will review the medication file of each resident and utilize the tools available from CMS to assist the residents in the Medicare D selection process. RCS will present cost-savings option to the resident prescribers and keep them informed of formulary changes and price fluctuations.
Comprehensive Product Availability: RCS has the ability to provide ancillary products such as wound care, incontinence supplies and orthopedic braces as requested. Our facility maintains and extensive inventory of vaccinations as well as Pneumovax, Zostavax and seasonal Influenza preparations.
